Domestic Abuse and its Harsh Realities

In the first three weeks of Covid-19 lockdown, domestic homicides more than doubled in the UK and countries elsewhere entering lockdown earlier reported increased domestic abuse and delayed reports, with victim-survivors only able to seek help once restrictions eased.

Domestic abuse is an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer. In the vast majority of cases, it is experienced by women and is perpetrated by men.

In this podcast today, I will be talking about the consequences of domestic abuse and what you can do if you are or have been victim to domestic abuse. I want you to know that help is available and that you do not need to suffer alone.
