Victim 2 Victor - Surviving Abuse and Overcoming Trauma
This podcast is to support victims of abuse. If you are stuck in your pain, unsure of how to even begin addressing all of the heartache and trauma of which you endured, I need you to know that healing is possible. I, and many former victims before you, have found the strength and hope to rise from the past and to create something magnificent for ourselves and for the people around us. The abuse I endured as a child and well into adolescence was obscene and I struggled for a long time to make peace with it, but I have made the decision to turn my pain into a powerful tool for others and myself. You can turn it around too. If you would like to learn or read more about me then please visit my website: https://victim2victor.net. You may also visit: https://linktr.ee/healing.journeyy

In the first three weeks of Covid-19 lockdown, domestic homicides more than doubled in the UK and countries elsewhere entering lockdown earlier reported increased domestic abuse and delayed reports, with victim-survivors only able to seek help once restrictions eased.Domestic abuse is an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behaviour, including sexual violence, in the majority of cases by a partner or ex-partner, but also by a family member or carer. In the vast majority of cases, it is experienced by women and is perpetrated by men.In this podcast today, I will be talking about the consequences of domestic abuse and what you can do if you are or have been victim to domestic abuse. I want you to know that help is available and that you do not need to suffer alone. If you would like to take your self development to the next level then please sign up to my FREE 12 week self discovery plan here: https://victim2victor.net/free-12-week-self-discovery-plan/More information about me can be found via links here: https://linktr.ee/healing.journeyyIf you are interested in my book ‘Victim 2 Victor’, it is now available on audio: Amazon: amzn.to/37jFt2W

In this podcast, I will be discussing the causes, symptoms and consequences of depression. In my years when I was depressed as a result of the abuse and trauma that I incurred from a young age, I found just saying that I was 'depressed' made people feel uncomfortable and ashamed. This only made my condition worse and I was on the brink of suicide due to feelings of loneliness and feeling like I had no support. With the COVID pandemic and more people in isolation, depression rates are higher than ever and is now the number one mental health problem. Rates of depression and suicide are continually rising and increasingly striking younger people. Twenty years ago, depression in children was almost unknown, which tells us that we are dealing with a culturally transmitted phenomenon which is a result of changing environmental conditions that have led to a dramatic rise in people’s expectations from life. It is time to raise awareness of this increasing mental health issue and to help support the future of our next generation. If you are suffering from depression or know somebody who is, then I would highly recommend that you seek professional help from either your doctor or a registered counsellor. In this podcast we will talk about the rape culture, its direful consequences, possible causes, and some practical remedies. I have come together with a female student, Parul Dhand from Rajasthan India, to tackle the common issue of rape which exists in India where, according to recently released official government crime data, there is a rape reported every 15 minutes. These statistics outline only those cases that are reported as many cases still go unnoticed. I will be discussing the reasons behind the shame associated with rape and what could be done to help and empower more victims to speak up and seek helpPlease note: A sexual assault is any sexual act that a person did not consent to, or is forced into against their will. If you have been sexually assaulted as an adult or as a young person, it is important to remember that it wasn't your fault. Sexual violence is a crime and needs to be reported. You may contact me on any of the following social media platforms:* https://www.facebook.com/healingjourneyy/ * https://www.instagram.com/healing.journeyy/ More useful links can be found here: https://linktr.ee/healing.journeyy

This podcast highlights a very important topic which is increasingly concerning in countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. As you may have been aware, in India there have been recent changes in the law which state that groping a child through clothing isn't deemed as sexual assault as there is no skin-to-skin contact or sexual intent. I have come together with a female student,Parul Dhand from Rajasthan India, to gain her views about this issue. The aim of this podcast is to raise awareness worldwide about the issues of public sexual harassment and sexual assault that are still taking place in countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. I hope that this podcast empowers women and gives them the strength to deal with the problems that they face and enables them to seek help if they have already been victims to such abuse. This podcast is not aimed to ridicule any state or country but to merely try and tackle the issues that women are facing daily. For those of you who are unaware of the term Eve teasing, this is described as staring, stalking, passing comments, and inappropriate physical touch. Perceived consequences of eve teasing include tight restrictions on girls' mobility, inability to attend school or work, girls being blamed, and causing family problems. You may contact me on any of the following social media platforms:* https://www.facebook.com/healingjourneyy/ * https://www.instagram.com/healing.journeyy/ More useful links can be found here: https://linktr.ee/healing.journeyy

Welcome to this guided law of attraction meditation for forgiveness; forgiveness is not easy. In fact, forgiving can be one of the most difficult things we face in this lifetime especially if somebody has caused us harm. And yet it is vital that we learn to do so, for nothing causes as much stress on the physical body or the soul as carrying negativity. When we hold a grudge, we do untold damage to ourselves over time; in letting go you not only set the object of your forgiveness free, you nurture yourself in body and spirit. It is this gentle compassion for ourselves and those we feel have harmed us that leads us forward and allows us to be at our most loving in the universe. During this meditation, our focus will be on connecting with that peaceful strength that resides within us.This strength is there, always. Through this meditation, you will attract the awareness of the gentle strength you need to let go of your pain. You will also cultivate mindfulness, to allow you to forgive and move through life with gentle compassion.Know that in connecting with the universe this way, we will raise your vibration. This in turn will help you to establish a deeper connection with yourself. Please Note: For optimal results you should be sitting or lying down in a quiet place where you will not be interrupted. As we go through this meditation, remember to feel grateful for this opportunity to focus on your well-being.To know more about me, please visit my website: https://victim2victor.netYou can find some useful links here: https://linktr.ee/healing.journeyy

Do you consistently feel drained or unhappy after spending time with your partner? If so then it could be a warning sign that you are in an unhealthy relationship. Hi listeners, my name is Anu Verma and I am a survivor of sexual abuse. Due to my early childhood experiences, I found myself trapped as an adult in a lot of unhealthy and abusive relationships. Trauma can have severe impacts on ones mental health and there is a need for more awareness and support out there to offer victims a helping hand and a way out. That’s what I’m trying to do in my own small way. I have read a lot over the years about abuse and have had much therapy but I found writing to be very therapeutic. It has helped me to heal and has given me a voice, so much so that I have recently been published. Although I am aware that there is much literature out there on the subject of abuse and there are some common traits in most experiences, I do still believe that every journey and experience is unique. As a British born Asian woman, I know only too well that in my community, many issues are still taboo and not discussed openly or at all. I share chapters 3 & 4 of my story with you in this podcast episode. My hopes are for my story to reach out to help raise awareness to be give survivors the strength and courage to speak up and to seek help.
